With the financial support of Sustainable Tourism for Livelihood Recovery Project (STLRP) – a joint collaborative project of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Nepal, TRTI as a consulting service provider formed 11-members National Sustainable Tourism Club in the mentorship of college principal Mr.Ramesh Prasad Khadka at Janapriya Multiple Campus , Pokhara on 24th August 2024. sustainable tourism expert and academician Dr. Ramji Sharma and tourism faculty and GTTP Nepal curriculum trainer Mr. Ram Babu Sharma was the distinguished guest .HOD’s of different stream and faculties were the other dignitaries .During the club formation, a tourism speech contest with topic ‘The Role of Youths in Tourism Promotion of Nepal” as a part of the tourism awareness program was also conducted. . TRTI program Director Mr. Saroj pd. Pyakurel handed over club prefect batch to the club prefect .11 members of the club were also handed over the T-shirt and caps provided by NTB.
Ms Sriza Tandukar ,Mr. Sunil Pakhrin and Ms. Barsha Sharma stood first, first runner-up, and second runner-up respectively in the tourism speech competition.
The club will work to create interest and raise awareness and sense of responsibility of young students towards our natural and cultural heritage .Besides club will also organize different programs and events to foster domestic tourism promotion in the nation.
